DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE FOR THE HAND ON HEART CAMP AND RETREAT DAYS

Lime Tree Farm, Hutts Lane, Grewelthorpe, Nr Ripon, HG4 3DA

There is no railway station in Ripon. The nearest one to the camp is probably Thirsk, but this is 18 miles away. You can travel to Ripon bus station by bus or coach from Leeds and Harrogate, and by bus (Dales and District bus number 159) from Ripon to the Market Place in Masham (which is about 4 - 5 miles from the camp location). Collection can usually be arranged from there. Contact numbers: 07786 692822 (Shabdan) and 07900 046024 (Shastra) but these phones will only be checked at intervals, so please know your arrival times and arrange everything in advance (and all visitors to the site must be pre-registered in any case - please text Shabdan for registration confirmation). From South of Ripon

1. From A1 travelling North, go past Melmerby junction to Ripon (A61) as this route has some closed roads at the moment because of traffic restructuring and is currently only suitable for those with local knowledge.

2. Instead, from A1 look for B6267 exit to Masham/Thirsk, and turn left to Masham.

3. Continue on B6267 until junction with B6108, and turn right to Masham.

4. Turn left after bridge to Masham, then at next fork, turn left to Market Place/L'Ansons Mill. Go through Masham village, following the road, and signs to Kirkby Malzeard/Grewelthorpe. Continue. Go over humpback bridge. Road continues 2 – 3 miles including moorland and and then enters Grewelthorpe.

5. Ignore first fork to right and turn right at junction with 20 zone sign beside Crown Inn, heading towards primary school.

6. At next T junction turn right towards The Hutts

7. Then take next right fork/turn down farm road signed The Hutts.

8. Drive past Quarry Farm on right. Camp is in one of the fields on the right. Look for signs and//or balloons. If you reach the tiny entrance signed Lime Tree Farm on the right, you have come too far.

Coming through Ripon (local knowledge important as some roads blocked off at the moment) or if coming back to camp from shopping trip so you have seen where the road comes out in Ripon

1. Take the road called Blossomgate out of Ripon heading North towards Kirkby Malzeard. This road is called Westgate, then Blossomgate, then becomes Kirkby Road on the map (but on our SatNav it stays Blossomgate). Head for the villages of Sutton Grange, Azerley and then Grewelthorpe/Masham.

2. When you reach Grewelthorpe, pass the village pond on the left

3. At the junction with the 20 zone and school sign, turn left up hill and follow road to T-junction.

4. Turn right towards The Hutts

5. Then take next right fork/turn down farm road signed The Hutts.

6. Drive past Quarry Farm on right. Camp is in one of the fields on the right. Look for signs and//or balloons. If you reach the tiny entrance signed Lime Tree Farm on the right, you have come too far.

From North of Ripon on A1

1. A few miles after Catterick on the A1 travelling from the north, take the exit to the A684 and then turn left towards Masham (on Bedale Road). Pass through the village of Aiskew, crossing railway tracks twice, and into Bedale.

2. Cross the bridge at Bridge Street and turn left signposted Masham.

3. At next junction continue straight ahead (technically a left and then an immediate right, but really a wobbly straight-ahead) onto B6268. Continue on this road heading towards Masham for about 5 miles, passing Mowbray School on left.

4. After the car skid warning + junction signs (both on same post) prepare to turn right onto B6267 to High Burton. Pass Gebdylas Farm. This road then joins the A6108.

5. From A 6108 turn left at junction towards Masham across bridge.

6. At next fork, turn left to Market Place/L'Ansons Mill. Go through Masham village, following the road, and signs to Kirkby Malzeard/Grewelthorpe. Continue. Go over humpback bridge. Road continues 2 – 3 miles including moorland and and then enters Grewelthorpe.
